The fish are always biting at the Cocoa Beach Pier, which stretches 800 feet over the Atlantic Ocean and is one of the East Coast's premier fishing spots.

Extending 800 feet over the Atlantic Ocean in the heart of Cocoa Beach, the Cocoa Beach Pier has earned a reputation over the years for its great fishing! Catches of many different types of fish are plentiful here (depending on the season) such as Red Fish, Whiting, Pompano, Tarpon, Snapper, Wahoo, Sheepshead, Flounder, Jack, Blue Fish, Sea Trout, Black Drum, Croaker, Grouper and more. Pier fishing opens at 6 AM daily. If you have any questions about Cocoa Beach fishing, just ask our friendly and dedicated bait and tackle attendants who have more than 60 years of combined fishing knowledge. $7 fishing fee if you bring your own equipment $5 fishing fee for seniors, ages 55 & older, and ages 12 & under $20 fishing rod rental fee for 4 hours (includes admission, bait and equipment). Legendary surfers such as Todd Holland, Gary Propper, Dick Catri, Claude Codgen, Mike Tabeling, Bob Freeman, Bruce Valuzzi, the notorious Jack “Murph the Surf" Murphy and, of course, Cocoa Beach native and 11-time world champion Kelly Slater have all braved the waters here in search for the perfect wave. Spectators can view the surfers from the far end of the Pier at the Mai Tiki Bar. The Cocoa Beach Pier is also the site of the NKF Rich Salik Pro/Am Surfing Festival during Labor Day weekend. Surf Lessons For the first time, visitors can take surfing lessons at the popular surfing spot on Cocoa Beach, which is known as the East Coast Surfing Capital of the United States. Cocoa Beach Surf School by Flohana will provide a variety of lessons to cater to the type of learning environment preferred, from private and semi-private lessons to group lessons and surf clinics. Experienced instructors will provide training covering all aspects of the sport, including water safety and basic board skills.
